The short answer
Before switching, reconcile future reservations and blocked dates, map existing listing identifiers and follow the new provider’s activation sequence. Existing booking imports vary by connection: some need deliberate import, entry or transfer. Our checklist reduces avoidable omissions; it is not a guarantee that a migration or API prevents double bookings.
Record what is already booked and blocked
Our checklist: record each listing ID, booked date, manual blocker, pending request and source. Smoobu’s first-day guide calls for direct bookings and blockers before connections; Booking.com manual blocks do not import. Beds24’s Booking.com setup imports upcoming bookings before activation. An existing reservation and a simple blocked period are different records.
Handle the Vrbo booking history for your chosen connection
Beds24 imports only post-connection Vrbo reservations automatically; earlier ones need iCal or manual entry, and its XML/software flow has credit-card, tax-identifier and channel-acceptance conditions. Rentals United requires eligible self-catering, kitchen-equipped, nonshared accommodation and no hotel-type inventory, a connection contract and future-reservation mapping. Its transfer guide requires matching confirmed manual bookings with nonzero prices. Obtain the channel’s transfer list and complete the actual workflow.
Review rates and currency before relying on the connection
Smoobu initial prices need Overwrite Prices, with later manual edits requiring Synchronize now. Beds24’s Booking.com connection requires rates to send availability. Rentals United’s Vrbo currency mismatch can recalculate rates. Our checklist is to inspect bookable dates, nightly rates, stay restrictions and fees on the channel itself after mapping.
Finish cutover and keep monitoring
Our checklist: follow both providers’ disconnection/activation instructions, confirm which system owns each field and keep a copy of your reconciliation. Calendar-only connections follow the destination’s polling schedule, and software connections can still fail or allow overlapping requests. Investigate mismatches promptly. Ending channel connections and canceling Smoobu billing are separate, with conflicting cancellation notice guidance requiring an account check.
Common questions
Will all old bookings appear automatically?
No universal import is established. Beds24’s Vrbo connection imports only bookings made after connection; Rentals United’s existing future Vrbo reservations need the documented recreation/transfer workflow.
