The short answer
You may not need another access subscription if your existing PMS and supported lock setup already handle the guest and cleaner workflows you need. Compare those capabilities first. RemoteLock is a candidate when its documented door and booking workflows fill a specific gap; exact models, plans and connection availability still matter. This is our editorial assessment from public documentation.
Check what your PMS already includes
Hospitable documents native reservation and operations-task codes on supported devices. Professional includes two devices per property and Mogul four; Legacy devices are a paid add-on. Host and Essentials do not support native smart devices. That baseline does not make RemoteLock a new Hospitable connection: new RemoteLock connections are no longer offered, existing configured users may continue, and the replacement has not been confirmed available.
Name the workflow gap before choosing software
List the access tasks you still perform manually: booking codes, changed dates, cleaner windows, permissions across doors and response to delivery failures. RemoteLock documents temporary guests, users, roles and door groups, but recurring schedules depend on the model and door groups can require a plan upgrade. Our recommendation is to purchase only after the specific missing workflow is documented for your configuration.
Compare the additional cost with the work saved
RemoteLock Premium vacation-rental software starts at $6 per door per month with annual billing or $7.50 per door per month with monthly billing, both under an annual commitment. A property can have several enrolled doors. Confirm minimums, taxes, hardware, bridges and installation; starting software rates are not your installed total. Treat time saved as your own estimate, not a proven vendor outcome.
Keep a simple setup when it meets your needs
Our assessment: a small operation can consider maintaining a manual code workflow if the host can consistently manage timing, communication and booking changes. That is a workflow choice, not a guarantee of safety or reliability. If adding automation, check the model-specific fallback, powered-lock requirements and who can respond locally when something fails.
Common questions
Is a separate access platform always required?
No universal requirement is established. Some PMS plans already automate supported devices. Check the native workflow, your exact locks and the task you need to solve before adding a subscription.
Should I count properties or doors when budgeting?
RemoteLock advertises its vacation-rental software starting rates per door, with annual commitments even for monthly billing. Count enrolled doors and confirm minimums and all hardware or installation charges.
